of American Art of Bentonville, Arkansas. So have you ever had a billion dollar dream?
These two were recognized for their outstanding achievements of leading the University
through one of its largest ever capital campaigns. The capital campaign made national news
when the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation donated the largest ever cash gift of
$300 million to the university a few years ago. They are A+ dedicated life members of the
Arkansas Alumni Association. Upon accepting the Honorary Alumni Award for both her as well
as on her husbands behalf, Ms. Edwards paused and shared what Oprah Winfrey
occasionally calls, What I know for Sure. Edwards stated that, The
University of Arkansas is easy to love and its easy to call home. |

As the program continued to roll down the rails of outstanding Arkansas |
|
|
|
| alumni achievements to its next stop of the Young Alumni Award, the
atmosphere seemed to steady a bit as notice was given that even the young would be
recognized that evening. Young Alumni, defined as alumni under the age of 40 makes up
approximately 50% of all living University of Arkansas alumni. Atlanta, Georgia CNN News

| Razorback walk on under Nolan Richardson. At the age of 25 he found
himself working for NBC11 in San Francisco (the nations 5th largest television
market). He was also proud to note that hes the proud son of educators. Before
concluding his acceptance speech and telling a story of how he gave Stan Heath advice
about the U of A and the Northwest Arkansas area, he stated that he felt that Brandon
Burlsworth (a deceased, former Arkansas Razorback Football player) would have made a much
better recipient for the award. Then ladies and gentleman dinner was served. |

Upon the conclusion of the dinner break the program took a slight turn inward when the
University began to recognize three of its own distinguished faculty with the, Faculty
Distinguished Achievement Award. John A. White, Jr. (BSIE 62) University of Arkansas
Fayetteville Chancellor introduced each faculty award recipient and stated what each had
done to deserve such high award, praise and significance. |

The first Faculty Distinguished Achievement Award bestowed was to Dr. Ajay O. Malshe,
Mechanical Engineering faculty member. Malshe joined the University of Arkansas
engineering faculty in 1995. According to the event program he currently holds seven
